Of course anytime the Redskins, Raiders of Patriots lose is a good day in football for me.

I like your thinking, sir.

My Thoughts about the Games I watched Today:
Bills-Seahawks- Only saw the end and the Hawks looked Horable. Can't believe the Bills faked a field goal and went in for the score

Chargers-Panthers- What a game. Was dissapointed that the Panthers won but still a good game

Jets-Dolphins- Brett looked good today. Another close exciteing Game.

Cowboys-Bangels- The Boys looked dominate

Bears-Colts- Shock of the Day. But the Bears looked like the better team and the better team won.

Well, I was 8-5 in my progs and was 0:02 away from being 9-4 when DelHomme threw that amazing bullet into the end zone past three defenders.

My biggest surprises were the Seattle-Buffalo. I didn't expect such a trouncing if Seattle did lose and the Colts-Bears game.

On a happy note, my Steelers kicked the Texans gluts. Good job guys!

I am reading that the Pats are claiming that the guy that rolled into Brady's leg did it intentionally. I saw the clip and it looked to me like when he was taken down the force of the block which was in Brady's direction sent him into his leg.

More from New England!

Pats or Pansies you decide. Someone better tell Brady that football is a rough sport!

Actually I think Moss was the only one who said that. The Moss who was busying fumbling the ball 30 yards away or so. The others were non committal best I could tell. I personally as a Pats fan think it was an unfortunate accident and the league office agrees which is good enough for me. I kinda excuse players for being a bit emotional but Belichick said the same flim flam and that I don't excuse. Coaches are supposed to be mature and he should have been more gracious. But then again, Belichick should be a lot of things.

What's with the Brady hate? Brady hasn't said anything. He almost never says the wrong thing, he nearly always handles himself with class.

We will see how Matt Cassel does, I think its possible the Pats could still make the playoffs. A 20-14 win over the Fins doesn't impress me Jets (but they have potential). The Bills on the other hand, they may just be a powerhouse. The AFC East is better than last year but aside from the Pats (and I guess the Bills to a point) they were fairly dreadful last year (mostly the Jets & Dolphins) so I'm not sure what that means.

I would've been incredibly happy had the Chiefs upset the Patriots. The last minute was intense.

Well it didn't happen so nah nah.

The Pats were lucky to be playing such a subpar team at home (sorry Chief fans, all teams go through it). They would have lost to most teams, including any of their division rivals (maybe they could have beat the Dolphins). I think they have enough talent to overcome the loss of Brady and sneak in the playoffs but they better step it up. They've been fairly awful during the preseason and now their opening game.

That's fine. If Chiefs can't get it done, mister Brett "I've retired 10,000 times and I'm still here, baby" Favre will.

I'm a SDSU Aztec alumni, so I'm sort of hoping Cassel is ineffective or gets hurt.

The Pats schedule has them playing a number of subpar teams. Without Brady I'm sure that they are happy about there easier schedule.

No one is but between Belichick (the not so nice genius), their talent and the easy schedule it may not be wise to count them out yet.

Even IF they make the playoffs, the Brady factor will weigh heavily then. Unless God blesses them with a Rothlesberger like rookie. I can't believe I even entertained that thought for them. Let them go down in flames! That's more like the real me!

Take it easy, you're over-reacting. All it would take is for Cassel to jam his thumb (hurt) and O'Connell would be playing.

Brady is not hurt.

If he was, Sims would have been signed.
He would not have been at the practice facility yesterday.
He would have had surgery already.

Brady is starting on Sunday, or maybe coming out at halftime.

What do you make of the Vince Young situation? The Titans QB was briefly pulled from the game Sunday following a poor outing, had to be talked into going back in by Jeff Fisher, went back in, got hurt and has more or less sparked a debate about Young's mental stability?

Then he goes "missing" (per his mama) on Monday and Fisher, the police and a psychologist meet with him. Young apparently said he went to a friend's house to watch MNF without notifying his mother or his Fisher.

What did he do go to a healing service and receive a miracle?

If he does come back then its just more Patriot Propaganda like the pre-Super Bowl foot hype. Did Bellichick run psy ops for the CIA during the war or something? Or is it Brady's stomach, not knee that is hurting now that he has to face Favre and the Jets on Sunday? Preparing his excuses for the loss maybe?

The 4th Brady boy: Greg, Peter, Bobby and Tom?

Brady is on IR I believe, even if he were healthy he is still ineligible per NFL regulations to play this season due to his IR status.

According to NFL sources and such Brady's foot injury was legit. NFL insider Peter King also reported that he had a groin injury in that Super Bowl. But you'll never hear that from Brady or the Pats staff. One thing you cannot accuse Bill Belichick or Tom Brady of is making excuses.

I think Brady's stomach is fine considering the last time they met Brady's Pats walloped the Pack 35-0.

BTW: Why does Brady take so much heat while Favre is held up as a hero. Favre retired last year. Then in March they asked about a comeback and Favre said no. Then, at the worst possible time (right about training camp) for the Pack Favre desides he wants to come back after all, creating a major distraction for his new team. Say what you will about Favre "earning his right" to decide if and when he plays it definitely was a me first sort of deal. I'd like to see an example of where Brady put himself before the team.

Example 2: When Packers top wide receiver Javon Walker wanted to renegotiate his deal Favre publicly stated he needed to get in camp. While some may feel that players need to honor their contracts keep in mind that teams don't. If you get injured (which Walker did, he reported to camp sans new deal) then you get cut or traded (Walker was traded). Aside from QBs the only guarenteed money in the NFL are signing bonuses.

Contrast this with Brady. when Brady's top wideout Deion Branch (who is not nearly as physically gifted as Walker is) was holding out for more money Brady publicly supported his teammate's desire to be compensated based on what he had done and said the Pats need to reward the players that make the team great. Also, Brady accepts a salary which is lucrative to be sure but far below his market value. This is to provide the Pats cap space to sign other needed players (and the Pats are still very cheap, Vinitieri & Samuel should still be Pats period).

In retrospect neither wideout has been a good investment as both have been plagued with injuries with their new teams. But Brady stood by his teammate, a guy in the trenches with him every week. Favre took the side of management and his own benefit as he needed Walker in the offense.

Just trying to provide a little balance to the Brady bashing. I have nothing against Favre, his leadership, creativity, toughness, openness and generosity are legendary. But he's not perfect and I think Tom Brady also has those qualities. OK, probably not the openness. Favre is very open and honest for a public figure of his stature. Brady has bought into his coach's secretiveness.

I think Favre will take more criticism this year. He played the drama queen during his "retirement" press conference. "I've got nothing left to give." And then he expected GB to drop all their plans to accomodate his "comeback". I was actually glad to see his loss against a "Brady-less" NE Sunday. Once he gets hammered a few times by a few defensive linemen he'll be reminded why he should have stayed retired.

GB, on the other hand, has shown that life without Favre is just as sweet with the second highest scoring offense in the league!

Who'd have thought SD and Seattle would be starting off 0-2!? Arizona blazing out of the gate! Who'd have thought that the Denver Broncos would have the highest scoring offense in the league! Still more surprises in week 2!
